Ye Olde Tracks

Initially the idea was to simply cut the rail into 15mm cross cut sections for patrons of the Otago Central Rail Trail.

It soon became apparent the number of ways the rail piece could be marketed and within a short space of time the rail piece appeared with a shiny surface that could be printed on.

From outset an extensive internet search showed that no similar operation was in existence, and according to major websites, steam buffs, train spotters of the globe a situation that stills exists to this day.

In 2008 Ye Olde Tracks Limited was incorporated to manage the expansion of the idea.

After eight years down the track, a lot of expensive lessons, the creation of further products etc. the rail piece is now produced at a very reasonable cost, with an absolute mirror like finish. Together with the ability to impact an amazing printed image of the customer’s choice, the rail has been described as being extremely historical, unique and totally exquisite. Ye Olde Tracks has now reached a cross roads. It is time to spread its wings and become a world renowned producer of ‘railway memorabilia.’
